FREE CONDOMS

When the Obama Administration tells you that contraception will be free--do you believe that? Yes or No? For those of you who answer yes, I am willing to wager 95% of you will vote democrat no matter who runs and no matter what the office. It is your mindset (not you) that I am challenging and attacking right now. This "note" does not fall into the moral trap of "life" versus "choice" but instead, let's talk about the faulty economics for a few moments....

Very few tangible products of value will EVER be free, and this topic is representative of that 'slippery slope' the liberal democrats so blissfully love to ski.

Didn't our parents teach us better than this?

The problem with 'free' condoms or 'free' (substitute any health care product here) anything is this:

It must be researched, passed through FDA approvals, manufactured, sold, distributed and administered. All these things cost an enormous amount of money. So while 'free' to a certain percentage of Americans, the industry must pay for the products somehow. In the case of Obamacare, one way to pay for the 'free' condoms is to impose a 3.5% additional medical device tax on manufacturers who sell their 'widgets' to health care facilities. Bear in mind that the manufacturer already PAYS taxes on their income. It's yet another form of double & triple taxation. What do you think medical manufacturers will do in order to maintain profitability if faced with 3.5% taxes on every dollar of revenue? Just eat it? Of course not--in general, the cost of EVERYTHING they produce will increase by a minimum of 3.5%.

So your condoms are not free. In fact--they are just the tip of the iceberg. What lies beneath the surface is exponentially INCREASING costs as a result of the federal government attempting to run what should be a private enterprise. Yes--this is an argument for capitalism--that horrible word the Obama Administration convinced so many people should be a sub definition of "evil" in Webster's dictionary.

But I don't like to complain without proposing a solution--so here goes...

President Obama should immediately 'dictate' to the masses all of the following:

1. From now on, nurses, CRNA's, MD's and all healthcare professionals will work on a volunteer basis.
2. Utility companies will provide electricity, water and telecommunication services to healtcare facilities for FREE.
3. Union builders--yup--you're going to build those hospitals for FREE
4. Researchers--you will find new cures and design revolutionary new devices for FREE
5. Big Oil--lest you think you can escape with your evil profits--all fuel used for transportation to and from healthcare facilities must be provided for FREE.
6. Grocery Stores--since our nurses, docs and other professionals now work on a volunteer basis and need to eat--you will provide food to them for FREE.

By the time I reach point #10 what you'll have is 100% communism.

Think I'm wrong?

I'm not! This is the movement known as "progressivism" and its really happening, right here in the good 'ole United States of America. I'm not calling for violence but I am predicting it if things don't change in the next decade or two, and maybe less. It's that whole "Tree of Liberty" that "Must be Watered" thing....
